IEEE Events (2006 -2007):

March 4th Week, 2006: Workshop On XML

A one day workshop was organized on March 24, 2006. The practical experience was given to the students on XML web technologies.

May 2nd Week : Biannual Meet

Four students of our student branch were selected to attend the all India congress of IEEE student branch held at Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi on may 24 2006. Attended by 100 delegates from all over India.

August : Workshop On PCB design

This workshop was organized on 12August, 2006 with the help of industry to give hands on experience on PCB Design to the students of ECE students

October : Windmill Making Contest for Power Generation

This contest was organized on 24 October, 2006


November : Lecture Series On Technical Topics

In Third week of November 2006 a lecture series was organized for the students by the students on various current topics

Educational Tours by SEE

(a) HCL-Comnet, Noida for BE (ECE & EI) students February 2006.

The students got an opportunity to understand the working of various devices/systems used in Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communication systems.

(b) HCL-Technologies, Noida for ME students December 2006.

The students got a rare chance to know about the latest and most advanced Antennas used in satellite communication networks.

(c) GRIDTECH-2007, New Delhi, February 2007.

The student got an opportunity to know about the latest techniques used in power transmission and distribution systems in the country. More than 60 companies/Organizations from 20 countries, participated in this international exhibition.

(d) IETF-2007 at New Delhi, February 2007:

The students enriched their knowledge by using this 17th International Engg. And Technology Fair in New Delhi. There was a rare collection and demonstration on “Needle to Aero plane” technologies at present and in future.

(e) Maruti Udyog Limited, Gurgaon, 27th April 2007:

The students of 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year have to be participated in this educational tour. The students will get the rare opportunity to go thorough the various processes to manufacture the world famous models of Maruti-Suzuki cars by using high tech instrumentation and robotics.

(f) Parle Biscuit Factory at Neemrana (Rajasthan), 4th May 2007:

This educational tour has been arranged after getting a very-very special invitation from M/s Parle Biscuit factory at Neemran. The students of all semesters of all departments have to be joined to the tour. 50% of the total expenditure will be contributed by the college. The student will get the rare opportunity to be acquainted with the latest technologies used in manufacturing different types of eatable confectionary items and biscuits in the country.

Activities in the Department of CSE & IT for Computer Society of India

  • The department has an esteemed committee exclusively for the activities about professional membership of CSI, IEEE, and ISTE etc. (coordinated by Ms. Deepti Gaur, Asstt. Professor).

  • In a departmental meeting dated 28th March 2006, it was decided that our institute ITM gets the membership of Computer Society of India. Students also will be encouraged to get the membership of CSI.

  • Institute got membership of CSI by paying DD No. 663002 of Rs. 5250/- dated 17th April 2006 drawn on Syndicate Bank.

  • A good response observed from the students community to become Computer Society of India members. Twelve (12) Students of CSE & IT department got CSI membership by paying from their own (DD No. 663021 of Rs. 2400/- dated 17th April 2006 drawn on Syndicate Bank).

  • In a meeting dated 27th April 2007, It was resolved that all the faculty members and all the students of the department will be encouraged to become life members with effect from July/August 2007 (i.e. at the beginning of the academic session).

Activities during 2006-07

Following activities were performed during 2006-07

Student seminar on Emerging Automotive Technologies.

All Terrain Vehicle Design Contest was held at ITM.

Four quiz contests.

Student members team participated in Mini Baja contest.

Students and faculty members participated in annual function at Delhi college of Engineering. Student and faculty members attended the SAE president’s lecture and interaction seminar with SAE (internal) president and SAE (India) president.
